FXR was a three point rubber mount, much like the current dressers, while the Dyna is two point. The frame was different to accommadate the swing arm and motor mounting. The frame is stiffer and results in better handling.
The FXR was smoother, and handled better than the Dyna, but was replaced because of the expense of building the frames as compared to the Dyna. Also the Dyna has a more traditional HD look than the FXR did.
The FXR is one of the best motorcycles HD ever made in my opinion. Anyone would be lucky to have one.
I think the last FXR was produced in 99....after a couple year absense...is this correct? I also think that HD never fitted a twin cam to an FXR frame....too bad...If I remember correctly, the last HD with an EVO was in an FXR.
Just a bit of trivia...I was watching Pulp Fiction the other night and I noticed the chopper that Bruce Willis is riding (Zed's bike) was a Wide Glide...but it looked to be a Wide Glide FXR. That was always one of my favorite bikes in cinema.
Just figured I'd throw that out there. I could be wrong about all of this..if so, someone please correct me.
the bike you're looking at is a superglide (with a 21" front wheel) not an FXR. When some papers or ebay for example make the categories for bikes they place dynas/fxr's in the same category and that's probably why it shows 'superglide fxr'
