Long time rider....first Harley. I have an 07 street bob.
Is there an aftermarket hi-flow air filter that can be used WITH the stock air cover. I like the stock look and want to keep it but also have a hi-flow air filter.
I think that the Moco Screaming Eagle, Arlen Ness Big Sucker 1, Doherty and K&N (the full kit, I believe it is 3909 but not sure) should all work with the stock football.
Yes..the SE backplate and high flow filter will work with the football cover. You can upgrade from there to a K&N filter...I believe the part number is HD-0800....but you might want to double check that P/N.
Yes, the K&N RK-3909 kit has to work with the stock football cover. The filter included with the kit is of a similar oval-eseque type shape as the stocker. The unit itself doesn't stick out as far from the engine as the screamin' eagle cover- so you aren't bangin' your knee against it if you have forward controls.
