Forward control brake lever install - 06 WG - Please Help!

but sometimes the road is bumpy, and I get frustrated pretty easy....

Anyway...mud...or anyone else....if you have any tips for removing this bolt, I'd appreciate it. If it's just a question of getting up enough ***** (and perhaps a breaker bar), please let me know.
Sounds like you're doin the right thing by stepping back and thinking it out.
Those torx heads can definately be problematic.
Yeah, use the breaker bar, and be sure you are keeping pressure inward
as you are turning it out.
Otherwise the tip sometimes wants to walk out a little and strip the fasteners cavity.
I usually start the removal of torxes with the hand held impact that you beat
with a hammer. This assures the initial loosening without the possibility of walkout.

I just put forward controls on my bike, and that pin was like a press fit,
so I put a socket over the nail head end of the pin
and used channel lock pliers to press the pin out.
I was wondering how much room was available.

Also, I had the short torx that you had and just took it to the grinder utill the body was thin enough to fit down in there.
I HATE TORX BOLTS by the way!
Veniculum Sounds like your the one that wears the panties, id suggest put the tools down before you break a nail.

to post the pictures,
it sure does make it easy to explain then what I can do typing with my two fingers.
Also that pin and rod looks brand new...what are you up too?
Veniculum,That bolt goes all the way thru the bracket, try spraying penetrating oil on the back end of the thru hole, then go back and forth loosening and tightening slowly backing it out. If that doesn't work then remove the whole bracket from the frame and bring it to a local shop and see what they can do with it.
When indoubt pull it out.
Yeah pix. I believe it has been said before -
they're worth a thousand pex on the kBoard.
The new pin and rod, yeah some stuff I picked up in a lot of other takeoffs.
Simply pulled them off the shelf for illustrating this technique.
What am I up to????
Radical changes. Weather has been ugly. Tear down, mockup time. Much progress.
Solved the horn relocation issue while I was at it.
Just fired the machine up a few minutes ago after a couple weeks of fabricating.

Let me ask this....I'm using a 3/8" drive...it's pretty obvious at this point that it's just not gonna cut it. You think using a 1/2" drive will work better for something like this?...or better yet...maybe I'll just get my S&W .357 out and blow this f**king bolt out that way
Thanks again.

Not WD.
1/2" drive, yeah, but - go back and read the suggestion by WS6.
Remove the entire bracket from the frame and put it on the bench
where you can deal with it in a more workmanlike manner.
Take your time, or this sumbitch will kick your ***.
If all else fails use the Kimber. .45 better. Might take two rounds.

Sorry you're having such a hard time. If it makes you feel any better, I've yet to do one mod to my bike that didn't require some sort of hurdle jumping. One thing I am finally going to invest in is the impact. I'm so sick of stripping **** while tackling things (mainly torx) that require extra force. I'd rather whack it. (Read what you want to in to that statement).
