Here's the deal......2011 super glide .....stock air cleaner, stock map, Vance and Hines slash slip ons with the quiet baffle.
I put these on this weekend and put about 150 miles in it. Not a lot of pop, smooth in certain speeds, buzzy on others. I mean, smooth where it was not before with the stock pipes on and buzzy where the stock pipes were smooth
New pipes
.. Around 45-49 in 4th very smooth
.. Around 55-60 in 5th very smooth
.. Around 70-75/80 in 6th, can't see out of the mirrors buzzing so much
Old stock pipes
..same speed ranges was rough
..except for 70-75/80 very smooth
My question. Is this the nature or the engine with no map and running lean? Would something like Xieds help with the smoothness of the engine at higher revs? I do plan to put on an SE AC when I can afford it and get a good tuner like FuelMoto ..again..when can afford it. I'm just trying to get the bike to run smoother at highway speeds.
I don't know ANYTHING about tuners or xieds except for what I've read here so any advice would help.
it mostly vibration from the mufflers. you have to remember the baffles in after market slip ons are junk....that would cause vibration. also, any change in anything from the factory, even slip ons will not be the same as stock. they are not matched to the engine specs like they come out of the factory.
