Getting ready to install forward controls on my 2004 FXDXI. While it seems pretty straight forward I want to make sure i have all my ducks in a row before i start.
My questions is...
While reading the instructions (I know, I;m not a real man) I notice that while installing the left side shifter assembly they mention to use blue locktite in certain places, yet on the brake side it doesn't mention it at all. wold it be a good idea to use it when i attach parts to at least the frame?
if it gets tightened up, has threads, or i dont want it to fall off i use blue... hell i even use blue loctite on the switch housing screws... i ride my bike ALL the time and it vibrates like a mo fo... peace of mind and that way you done have to worry about it... it only becomes an issue if you over tq everything with the loc tite on there, that is when you snap bolts and strip threads...
I agree with Joe. I put blue locktite on everything that has threads. Why not. Its not like the red stuff that you cant get off. A little dab will do ya.

LOL Joe, you sound like me i put a small amount on everything that goes on the bike and as i said in a different thread " it is cheap insurance"
hahahah you know it buddy, have about 9 bottles of gloss black in the garage for threads and touch up's... wifey is about as girly as they come and her mother owns a few nail salons, i have now built 5 racks that hold 85 bottles each... ya i would say my wife has a nail polish addiction haha... i get **** from my buddies everytime they find the drawer with the polish in it, dont worry
