if i fill it up to much or all the way and put it on the kick stand it will start to leak out. i have a new gasket on the cap and its a big bob tank with new paint. the damn thing is leaking on my new paint.
can i double gasket the cap?
what can b done to correct this?
Not sure if yours is the same but I have to press down pretty hard on mine while tightening it to get it to seal. It'll click when it's tight but if I press down and turn and get it a bit tighter. Mine leaked pretty bad until I started doing this.

I will try that. It clicks a few times so I assume its tight. BUt I will try to give it more.
I pull the little gasket on the cap down towards the threads, then screw it on tight, I click it like 10 times - but thats just my OCD. Maybe it's a coincidence, but the gasket thing seems to help me.
When I filled mine till the pump shut off I got leaking too. The gas expands and takes the easiest way out (around the gasket). I also push while turning and have not had the problem since. I thought it was tight when it clicked, but it will still turn a 1/4 turn more
well after a week of me filling up my tank and leaving on vacation I come back home to find that my gas tank leaked again and ****ed up my new paint job. SO off again with the tank to re paint it.
I tried to tighten it down more and even after a new gasket was put on the cap it still leaks. The gas tank cant be full at all I assume because it will leak. I dont know how to stop this at all besides NEVER filling up full.
I then thought about giving it to my buddy to weld a lip possibly higher on the left of the spout so it would help not leak. BUt I have no idea if that would work.
What else can be done to prevent this crap. It has a big bob tank with 5 gallons and even after pushing the cap down more to tighten it- it still leaks
