Default Weight: Street Bob Vs SPS Swinger

Hey guy's

I'm wondering why there is a large weight difference between a Street Bob (648lb dry) and a Sunckerpunch Sally Swinger (495lb dry). I understand the SB has a larger engine but I can't see how the SB can weigh so much more.

I really like the look of the Swinger but the Street bob is about $10K cheaper here in Australia (web prices), so I thought I could change the guards/seat on a Street Bob and have dealership warranty.

There is very little to a Swinger. I saw a few pictures with a rider onboard and the bike looked quite small.

I agree art0565 the Harley would be the wiser choice.

AFMM3 I've never seen a picture of someone sitting on one other then a blond straddling one for promo purposes. I got the impression this would basically be a re-badge harley and be the same size as a dyna.

Default Swinger

I have had a softtail and a 1200 sporty in the past. I now have the Swinger from SPS. Hands down (for me) I love the swinger. The first thing I noticed when I sat on it was how light it was coming off the kick stand. With 88 inches pushing a 500 lb bike, it will get up and go. It also comes with the Mikuni HSR 42 carb. I like it better than the stock HD or the S&S that I have had in the past. Everyone that sits on it expects it to weigh more, because it looks like a big heavy bike. Everyone has their preference. I like it, just my 2 cents.

It's fair to say that it could easily cost $10k to remove 150lbs from a street bob. They must use a lot of composite and magnesium if that weight number is real. Good materials for weight savings; expensive as hell to replace. Seems like a decent price for a custom bike though

The SPS looks to be a bada$$ bike, but the first thing I would ask is about warranty and product support.
