Has anybody with a newer dyna put in the next heavier fork oil in their forks. If so, what did you think.
I'm making the dealer replace my fork seals under warranty. They have always had a very slight weeping to them and after a year, I'm convinced it's not a part of the assembly process. They said they would add the heavier oil for a couple bucks if I wanted. (price difference between the heavy and normal)
I use 10WT amsoil shock theraphy. That is the heavier as they also have the 5wt but with the bigger fork tubes they recommend 10wt.
Never leaked.
The price is the same, dealer is bullsh_ting you.
Yup, seals replaced at 1k on my Bob, had 'em put in the Screaming Eagle Heavy Duty instead of that watery ***** the bike came with. Definite improvement- less dive when braking, made the front end feel more solid. Overall improved the handling. Sometimes I wish I'd gone with the Extra Heavy duty, but would probably be a little harsh on the bumps. Agree with Joe that HD fork ain't as a good as Belray or other aftermarket fork oil, but doubt you'll get a dealer service dept. to put in anything but HD branded fluids. Go for it, it'll be better than stock for sure.
I installed the new front springs and Rocor intiminators along with the amsoil at 500 hundred miles.
I could't stand the bottoming out I was getting.
My rear streettrackers are fine with the 10 wt in the front, I don't know about the two clicks but the works streettrackers were adjusted all the way hard when I got them, I had to back them off considerably to smoothen the ride.
Solo rider.
Plenty of adjustment of the streettrackers.
Amsoil price is the same for either weight oil.
