I'm with the bigger is better crowd, but on the other hand, the external size of the cylinders is the same, so the 103 has a bigger piston but shorter fins..--> less cooling therefore higher temps?
What I don't get, why doesn't the MoCo offer a cam upgrade to SE255/254 or whatever cam you like, rather then a slightly bigger engine?

No, the liner is slightly thinner, cooling fins are the same.

Rode with a guy that just picked up a new 103 Road Glide at the end of May. It came with a factory installed oil cooler and still runs hot as hell.
