Default lower my wide glide?

What is the best way to lower my wide glide and still be able to ride 2up? all my previous bikes were allready lowered and rode "ok" but i bought this bike yesterday rode it home 3 hours and loved the smooth ride.

Can i get a decent ride out of a lowered bike specially if its 2up?

My 94 was lowered when I got it. Lots of clearance issues when 2 up. I put longer shocks back on it. Check my posts on this subject.

I just lowered my 2010 WG with the Progressive 11" in the rear. Its a stiffer ride, but no problems 2 up. Most all my riding is 2 up till she gets her endorsement.

i used lowering blocks to lower my WG. i went w/ 1.75" lower, which turned out to be too much for 2up. no permanent damage, but definitely bottoming out was an issue w/ two up. so i just took the blocks off a few weeks ago. the ride is better, but i do miss that lowered look. If im going to lower again i'll go w/ progressives so that i won't scrape the render and all the electronics wired up under it.

I put 12" Progressive 440's on my Wide Glide. Those shocks were a ;ittle over an inch shorter than stock. I like the way it looks and 2 up is no problem. My tastes are not for "as low as you can get" look. I dont like the way it looks and it gives up too much in the ride as well.

Why do you want to lower it?

Burly slammer kit. It goes on in around an hour and looks great afterwards. Ride is a little stiffer but you cant beat the look.

+1 I got the same and ride 2up here and there with no issues. But between the wife and I we are only about 290lbs combined I know some people may weigh 290lbs alone. My point is weight is the issue on bottoming out a lowered bike.
