Is it normal for bike to stutter and shut off? I was in heavy traffic and engine was hot. When I got off highway engine shut off. When I started bike and put in gear bike was shakin and stutterin. thanks

 

no thats not normal im not sure what it could be but its not normal ( what really amazes me is all kinds of people will respond to a cup holder thread but noone on this) anyways hope u find what u are looking for here

My 05 EFI motor has a heat management system on it. At 320* the idle will drop until t cools or rpm is at 800 rpm, the next level is when the temp reaches 338* the ECM will enrichen the fuel mix to hope cool the engine, then if the motorcycle is not moving and the temp exceeds 356* the injector pulses are interrupted too help expel the heat from the combustion chamber and draw in cool air. When this happens the engine will feel like it's missing, at that that point I'd be looking for the side of the road to park it and let it cool.
