If your running a little lean it could cause your bike to stop running just by not getting enough fuel. Then you can restart your bike if you keep the RPMs above 1500 or so.
I just went through all this with the dealer. Mine shut down 2 different times I had the 8 degree injectors I went through a major ordeal with it. Finaly they changed out to the 25 degree. I haven't had a chance to ride in a lot of traffic yet to see if it changed anything. It will shut down when the engine gets so hot. It's supposedly only the 06's that have this issue according to HD factory they changed the system for the 06 models. (Knock head on wall.)
Stumpman,, this was my first time experincing that, I had been riding on and off all day and it was nice out but not really hot, about 82 degrees, perfect. I also still have the 8 degree injectors, I hope it is something that they can solve fast.
I would take it back and complain about it if it's under warranty. They gave me a hasle before they replaced mine it was a mess. There is a bulliten out about it. You can make a copy from this site and carry it to the dealer with you.
I looked for it and saw where they said HD threatened legal action so they removed it. Bigredone has a post where he can e mail it to you if you send him your e mail addy.
