Exclamation HELP !!! Electrical problem

1998 Dyna convertible:

I parked the bike in the garage after work and the next day it wouldn't start. I have no power to the starter, neutral light, head light, tail light, fuel gauge and odometer light. There is power traveling every place else it's supposed to go.

I have continuity through the 4 fuses, 30 amp circuit breaker, and posts 86 and 30 on the starter solenoid.

I have run the handle bar wiring through the handle bars and I also checked the rubber sleeve, it's still unscathed.

ANY help would be greatly appreciated.... THANKS ! ! !

My first suspect would be the ignition lock. My 2c.

There's nothing at all when the starter button is pushed. It's got a carb so there's not a fuel pump hum to listen for.

This bike is before the ignition lock but I tried kicking it into and out of gear and held the clutch in any ways.

Do you have power at the 2 (l&R) 6 pin connectors from the main harness to the handlebars?

I have power at pins #1 on both sides (12.5 volts) the other 10 pins register .25 to 0 volts.

First and foremost make sure your bike is in neutral to try this. Remove the cover on the starter solenoid, turn ignition on, run switch in "run" position, and push the plunger in on the solenoid if the starter engages, then I'd say your problem is in your start switch circuit.

Well, I pushed the plunger in on the solenoid and she kicked over. I'll be checking the ignition next. While I'm gone I'll gladly accept any more suggestions.

THANKS Seniorsuperglide ! ! ! It's the ignition switch.

I just happen to have one from my HardtailSpringerSporty project that I used to test it and now I'll be installing it.

Thanks to all who replied and tried helping me through this ! ! !
