Default Re-use Bolts securing Inner Primary Case??

Can these 5 bolts be re-used, or should they always be replaced? I see a red sealing surface under the head of each one; not sure if it's an o-ring or different kind of seal.

What does your service manual say? The red is probably red loctite

Definitely not Lok-Tite; some sort of Buna/Nitrile/Rubber seal. I'm reasonably sure the Manual would say to replace them, lest I fall victim to "loss of control, resulting in serious personal injury or death".

My 07 service manual says that those bolts should be replaced.

any time I work on my bike or the machines I service I replace the bolts that maybe apt to go into any moving parts, bolts do tend to become weaker. also make shure to fallow all torque specs.even on re-used bolts.

If you are referring to the five in the pic, I have reused mine twice torqued down and used loctite with no problems.

Yep, those are the 5 in question. Thanks for your input, ryda.

Reuse it if the seal isn't damaged. Lube the mating surface of the primary with some oil, so when your tightening the bolts and compressing the seal, it won't stick and tear the seal.

I replaced mine. The service manual does state to do so. They are kinda pricey though. IIRC, about $6 a piece.

Odd....My bolts have a locking washer thingy that goes under them to help keep them installed. I tend to reuse mine BUT always with Locktite.
