Default Rattling Ratchet gas cap
Anyone have a fix for a gas cap that rattles like crazy, short of replacing it with a non ratchet variety?

The noise is driving me nuts.

Yes.

Get a thick pony tail holder from your wife/gf/daughter and slip it on over the cap after you screw the cap in. Stops the rattle.

I peened the metal ring on the inside with a rounded punch. I set the cap on a sand bag I use for shooting and peened 4 "corners" Worked for me.

had the issue with my 11 wide glide last year, found that once tightened if i turned it all the way to the right or the left to just before it would ratchet or start to loosen it got rid of the problem
