Looking around, and I don't find very many solo spring type seats for dynas. I've seen a few, but almost everyone of them has crazy stitching and embroidery on it. I'm just looking for a plain, leather, black, spring solo seat. Anybody have any good lines or sites? Oh, and I would like it to have gel in it if there is a company that you know of that make them with it. Thank you.
I really like the original HD solo spring seat. Unfortunately it's pricey but you get great quality and looks. My best man bought this seat a couple of months ago for his sporty and never regret it! I don't know what year is your bike, but it fits 06 later Dynas. Good luck in your search!
Mines a 2012 street bob. Are you talkin the black or brown leather ones in the catalogs that are about 550 all said and done for all the parts? Or are you talkin the original seat cuz the original sucks. Lol. And I was always told to stay away from actual Harley seats cuz most of them suck, stick with aftermarket when it comes to seats. But I did sit on a HD solo spring seat on a dyna and just in the show room it felt good. So your sayin it's pretty decent for a bt of a longer ride too? I know I like the looks of them. That and I could also have my upholstery guy throw some gel in there if its not good enough or something.
I love the Harley springer seat, though my *** gets number after a couple hours on it. I'm sure there are much better choices for long rides, but I sure do like the look.
If you're patient, they do show up used from time to time--got mine off the classifieds forum here for around half price.
Here's the bike down in Rockland this past weekend:
If i remember correctly I bought the after market kit from V-Twin manufactory. Of course this was back in the day before HD thought of it. I also bought the tan leather seat, bike looked sweet. But i had to sell the seat after i injured my shoulder. I think i still have the mounting kit if your interested.
thanks guys. maybe ill have to see if my dealer will put one on for a test ride or something. from time to time they have swap out sales and what not so they will install seat for you to try, and give you a deal on them. plus, since i just bought my bike, for the next year i get 10% off parts, clothing, and accessories. i do like the looks of the harley solo for sure. and so if you guys say you like it, it must be decent. i was just afraid that after 30 minutes on it, it would be numb city.
oh, also, have you guys ever heard of anybody or yourself used the mother road customs seats? i see they have a solo seat. i like the looks of the harley one, but this one comes with a passenger pilon where as the harley solo spring seat in black does not. only the brown leather one does. this is the only non embroidered, crazy looking seat i found really, and this one is TOO plain. lol. just curious cuz of the passenger pillon. thanks again for your replies
