Hey guys, I am poking my head in from over in the Softail and Touring forums. I have a good buddy of mine whom just bought his first HD, a 2012 Fat Bob. I have owned four, but never a dyna. We are both deployed and he is bouncing a lot of his ideas off me. I was hoping some of you cats could give me an idea of what parts will work when crossing them from one model to the next. One thing that pops into mind right off the bat is rear fenders. He is not a huge fan of the bobtail fender on the fat bob. He does like the look of the wide glide's rear fender. Do parts like that cross over with little to no issues? Thanks in advance and ride safe!!!

my whole bike is a combination of dyna parts...plus crossbone wheels lol.. to answer your question.. the later fatbob and wideglide rear fenders are interchangeable..
thanks guys. I see the guy who posted that did it a while ago, is he still on the forum much? I'd like to get a play by play from him on what all had to be done.
Hey guys! Firstly, thank you for your service, sirs! (Salute) Be safe out there!
As far as parts interchangeability, many parts will fit between different Dyna models. But also, don't forget about aftermarket parts. One good place to start would be Dennis Kirk online... Good pricing and an easy return policy. They also provide a huge catalog you can order, specific to Harley's. Best of luck to you both.

Thank you for the kind words. Believe me, I am very well versed in the world of aftermarket...lol, my wife hates me for it. I am mostly curious about fender options. He said that was really the only thing he didn't like a lot about the fat bob. I have noticed with fenders, it seems unless you drop a crap load on heartland or the such, sometimes aftermarket tins can be a huge PITA. One of the common swaps on softails is going from the bobtailed fender to a full fatboy fender, which in most cases is a direct swap. I was hoping to help him find something as easy for the FB. Again fellas, thanks for the replies. I believed he registered here now too, so you dyna guys take it easy on him...
