Thanks Macnab for that link.... : )

I knew I wasn't crazy.

I found someone selling an old Bub 2-2 exhaust for $20. It had been sitting for who knows how long. It looked rough.
I thought "Hey....it's only a $32 gamble" ($20 + new gaskets)

I read somewhere about the foil & water trick & here is my $32 exhaust

how much rubbing is necessary to get it to really shine? I tried it on a small area on an extra heat shield and it looks very hazy. Also do you use the shiny side or the dull side of the foil ?

I would check Macnab's link on Page 1.

That covers the entire process.

You can see a little rash on the end of the rear pipe..... ain't no foil going to fix that : ( : )

Oh.... FYI. I finished with a general foaming type window cleaner.

I just sort of crumpled it up loosely...dipped it in water & started scrubbing. It sort of "formed" into the shape of the piece I was working. A piece of foil didn't last very long......

PS I love your horn cover....I've seen 'em for sale, but never on a bike. (oh that's your air cleaner...D0H. Sweet)

I always get ignored about BarKeeper's Friend, but it has been on the market for 128 years for a reason. Spend a dollar on it (the powder, not the liquid) and you will NEVER spend another dollar on any other metal cleaner, EVER! It is one of those life changing events that I discovered by accident.
