Was at my local indy yesterday, and he tells me that HD is looking at liquid cooling just the heads and using a small rad, has anyone else heard this as the local indy said he got this info from a guy at HD
I actually do think they should build some water cooled bikes, especially touring models. Maybe build a few different models off the Revolution engine instead of just one.
They had a patent awarded about three years ago for a design that would allow them to do just that. I would google it but, I'll let you do that. And, I think it's a good idea. Cooler engines build more power, and are more reliable, and typically last longer. Why this infernal hatred of a cooler, more powerful motor is beyond me. I haven't bought a water cooled bike, because there isn't an American made bike that is appealing enough to me to do it. The V-Rod is just ugly ! If Harley would build a bike with a low profile radiator that resembles the one on the Honda 1300 line of cruisers..... I'd be in line tomorrow to buy.

there was a one page write-up on this in cycle world magazine i think 2 issues back. it had a diagram of the design as well. it did make mention that harely had recenlty filed for a patent on the design they were showing.
