I couldn't help but notice that NOBODY has ever said that they would put back on the same tire as the bike came with originally. My Road King came with Dunlops that appear to be wearing very well. At 11,000 miles I'm just starting to think about possibly replacing the front and the rear seems to be wearing fine. What's the stigma with using the OE tire as the replacement tire?
Cornering and riding aggressively is more important than how long a tire wears, for me and a lot of other riders.. Especially dyna riders.. If others have found a tire that they trust for those uses, then i'm willing to try it.
Having a sticky tire that holds me to the road but wears quicker, is more important than a tire that wears a long time but pits me in the ditch.

I have to tell ya, I have the stock tires on mine with like 6000 miles on it (I know I know, I don't ride enough) and it seems I need a new rear already. The dealer said so and to be honest, the tread is worn...

How many miles can one expect from one of these stickier tires?
Just a rear radial, not a front? How do I know if they're radials or not? The Metzelers site doesn't say.
I run a Metzler ME 880 Marathon, 170 60 R 17 on the rear. The "R" is for radial. They are listed at any dealer web site that sells Metzler products.
It's a placement for a Buell. My stock tire was a Dunlop 160 70 B 17. Going up to a 170 mm width tire with a 60 % aspect ratio vs my stock 160 mm width with a 70% aspect ratio left the speedo accuracy pritty close to "dead on". I've clocked it on roadside "your speed is" signs, and it rings true.
And, no clearance issues. I'm thinking the Screamin eagle wide for yours is a 180 with only minor bracket changes to the stone guard.
I like Dunlop just fine, the GT 502 will let you put a 180 on your stock rim.In fact it's the widest tire you can put on the stock 06 up Dynas without changing your wheel.Yes Pirelli makes a 180 that fits that rim but it's not as wide as the Dunlop.
Am I the only one who finds it a little funny hearing Dyna owners talk about "stickier tires"? We are riding CRUISERS!! How much sticky do you need, honestly. Stock Dunlops had plenty but chopped like hell so Metzelers for now but the back tire looks like a 10,000 miler just like the Dunlop.

Haha, true.. But if you don't drop these bikes so low that the rear fender is touching and the frame is scrapping the ground, they actually corner pretty fast.
