Default Quick question about exhaust gaskets...

I'm putting my new exhaust on an I was wondering what gaskets to use.

I have both here, the stockers and the Screaming Eagles.

I've heard guys say the SE suck and to go with the stockers...

Thoughts?

Have had my pipes off many times and haven't had to replace the stockers yet. Have heard many times in here what Austin Dave said.

I never got on with the SE ones either. Always seemed to leak. I heard putting two in each hole helps but I really don't see the point when the stock ones just seem to work better.

It doesn't sound much but that is correct. You really don't want to over-tighten them as they can and do snap off the studs if you do.

Make sure to recheck them after a short ride.

Max on mine is 80in lbs. They tighten up once they get heated by the exhaust flow.

I used the screamin eagle gaskets with no issue. The Vance and Hines pro-pipe calls for that gasket. It did not fit right using stock gaskets.
