sticking shifter, please help!!!!
Ive got a 07 fxd with a set of kuryakyn forward controls and it seams like every summer when its hot outside my shifter sticks and will not go back to the middle position. Ive tried all kinds of grease on the shifter spline shaft and it still gives me the same headache every summer. Trust me when you think you picked up a gear and release that clutch lever its a bad experience. Someone please help, any input or advise is greatly appreciated.

Grease
Two of my best purchases have been Teflon trailer ball grease from West Marine and Dri-Slide from the a local bike accessories shop. Either one of those products would probably work for you but the grease will pick up dirt so I would try the Dri-Slide first. If that doesn't work, put the Teflon grease on and then wipe it off. It will leave a bit of grease on the parts but not enough to pick up dirt.
