I just installed my XIEDs and decided to take my bike out for a test ride. I'm cruising along at about 45mph (speed limit), maybe 50mph, in the city on a slight down hill street when an old lady (probably 85) in a POS 1985 Taurus wagon decides to make a left turn in front of me. She stops half way through the turn when she finally sees me and I locked it up squealing the tire and slid sideways for about 40ft. She finally starts creep along as I'm screeching up to her and I missed her tail end by less than a foot. I had a truck to my left so I didn't have an out and I was either going to lay it down at the very end or smash into her. I think I need to go buy a lottery ticket.
That's something I don't understand, why the hell do people stop when they see they've pulled out in front of you? Done it to me both on bikes and in cages. You don't dare try going in front of them, and there's often traffic behind them. If there's ever a time to floor it...
I had a snowbird (Florida plates) pull out of a parking lot into my path. After giving a five second horn blast, I stop behind her at the traffic light. As she looks in the mirror, I gives her the "what's up with you" gesture. Her return gesture was "I didn't see you".
My next gesture was use your eyes.

Nice save guenther! Other than having your spinchter up to your eyebrows, how did you like the Xieds?
I only rode for about 15 miles but I know my decel pop was gone instantly. I also put in new plugs and will check them in another 20 miles or so. Before my plugs were white so I'm hoping this helps and I'm pretty sure it will. I don't have a way of testing temps but if it has richened up the A/F then the temps have to be a little lower.
As far as the "damn bue hair drivers" goes, I hope you make it to that stage yourself one day. My wife and I are dealing with her elderly parents, and trying to get them to give up their licenses. It ain't easy. No one wants to give up their independence, and I think my inlaws really think they drive better than they do. Like I said, though, glad you're OK.
