Hey guys,
So Ive been going through this for a week or so of riding.
Ive checked service manual and got codes that I believe were historic as I cleared them and did not return after another ride with prob happening.
the code was for the CKP p0374 and P0505 Loss of Idle Sped Control EFI.
The problem is idle rev is high and when I am at the high end of a gear and ease off of it, she wants to stay revved and not come back down. I took off my A/C and my throttle is working freely and closing as it should and is supposed to. I searched, what is yalls opinion? I am going to look to for a new ckp sensor (hear its like 40) and also tighten my exhaust bolts. but anything else yall can offer is great. lil scray when you take a corner and bike is still trying to go...
Check that screw **** under the throttle ( Cruise Control ), my got stuck one day and the bike took off on it's own i was lucky to get her down !! Come to find out mine was broken inside so i ended up taking it off completely , it can be dangerous ....
Off the top of my head, a dozen things or so can cause a P0374 to get thrown. The P0505 kinda narrows it down and points in the direction of the speed sensor.
When the throttle hangs at high idle, will it slowly return to a normal idle when you bring the bike to a dead stop? If so, your IAC is taking a dump.
kk6pg,
i changed the ckp sensor and still getting same result. yeah it will come down. i will check service manual on looking at the IAC. from your experiece is it hard to change the IAC out?
