Joining your ranks
Headed to Dallas from Houston this morning to pick up my "new to me" '03 Low Rider. I'm looking forward to exploring east Texas on it with my wife. I haven't consistently been on a motorcycle since I was 16, so any advice is welcome. I took the Riders Edge course and will be taking it easy for as long as I can stand it. The first thing I do when I get it home is checking the cam chain tensioners and going over it to make sure nothing is loose or looks worn. Any other things that I need to check right away? Thanks for any help and I'm eager to learn from y'all.
Congrats EL. I purchased my first HD (an 01 Low Rider) a few months ago. However I've been riding like forever it seems : )
Not much advice to give that you've already mentioned. Check the plugs, change the oil, etc & so on.
It's a very easy bike to ride. If you plan on longer trips I think a windshield would be a must-have. Without one & on the highway it feels like the wind is trying to take you off the bike. : )
