i jumped on the bike today and went to the bank and home for lunch when i was at work i turned out of the parking lot and heard the rattle and quickly realized it was the gas cap and this is on a 2012 with 905 miles

Yup the gas caps start to rattle sooner or later it seems, its probably by design so you buy something else. I am going to go with the HD flush mounts real soon.....I guess their design works haha

Mine has rattled since the day I bought it. Tank lift seems to have made it worse.

get a drag specialty cap they are much more durable. Caps would only last about a month on my sporty the drag cap has been on a year so far so good.
