I have an 07 Street Bob, I have been struggling to find some confort when it comes to my feet when i ride. I tend to squirm a lot.
Mid Controls, well they worked but i needed a place to strech my feet out on long rides. Put the highway pegs up front and it made a difference, I was comfortable but my 28 inch inseam felt like I was just a bit farther than i wanted to be out there. I considered drilling an extra hole and bringing them back an inch but said try some forwards instead.
Forward controls worked but they were just to far forward, they lasted about a month then i went back to the mid setup. I put the heel rests on the mids thinking that would help and they did as well.
I just did 40 miles with the Wyatt (Dyna Defender) floor boards. Day and night difference. I believe this is the best setup I could find. Plenty of room to squirm, They are fantastic.
Of the 3 different setups I have tried this year the floor boards are hands down the best and most comfortable of the bunch. Installation was pretty easy.
Thought i would share in case somebody is interested in doing the same.
29" inseam at 5'6" I love my FL Floor boards. Like you the forwards were just a bit out there and with reduced reach kit I felt off balance a bit being too far forward. I have a Saddlemen Exployer seat FL boards and reduced reach brake shaft. I also installed an FL foot peddle cover.
Great comfort and control. I set the retaining bolts loose so on extreme lean over curves when the boards touch they flex upwards.
Bob
I've struggled with this also. I started out with mids and highway pegs. I always seemed to be riding with my feet forward on the highway pegs. That made me switch to Kuryakyn standard forwards. Ran those for a couple years. Seemed good at first but for some reason I started getting uncomfortable with them. Decided to swap to the HD reduced reach kit. That seemed good for a while. Recently added mid mounds and realized how much better I like them. I've since decided to swap back to mids with highway pegs but that will be a winter project since I have to put the mid shaft back in.
Floorboards on a Street Bob sounds weird. Got pix?
I thought that as well, but they look good, somewhat retro if you ask me. I will get some decent pics tonight when i get some time and try to get some up late or tomorrow early..
ya know i have to agree.... i love my floorboards... took some time to get them positioned right, and fab'd how i wanted them... but after i mded the heel toe shifter up for it i was sold
I got the DK Customs bmx style foot peg/mini floor board and I absolutely love em. I am 5'7" and originally had some difficulty comfortably reaching the forward controls, I was about to go back to mid mounts until I got these. They look great; spin freely or can be locked in position, they keep my feet securely on the pegs at highway speeds, and they are adjustable with a set screw to get the perfect fit...I love the DK Customs bmx style pegs and wouldn't ride with anything else.

Hey Zach, thanks for the good review.
The DK pegs are a good cross between a floorboard and a peg...something that you don't realize how comfortable it can be til you experience it.
Here's a vid that gives a bit of an idea of how they look on different bikes
I run the DK Customs stealth bear traps too. I love them as they provide more than enough room for me with the mids which I love for canyon riding. I also put them on as high way pegs and they are great. I love the fact that they spin freely which gives your feet the option of setting exactly how they like which I have found is far more comfortable than trying to adapt your feet to a set postion. Anytime anyone gets on my bike they tell me it is a bad idea to have them spinning free but no issues as of yet with the exception of scraping the hell out of them while carving corners. I also really like the fact that they hold your feet in place as opposed to a regular board or peg. They are wider than the stock pegs and longer as well, but not nearly as bulky as full floorboards. And they come in black to match the black out theme.
Here you can see how they rotate if you choose to do so.
