I recently got a dark taillight that incorporates the turn signals and the brake light all in one to clean up the back end of the turn signals sticking out on my fender. I went out to install it and got it all working okay, but the damn thing won't bolt up right. There is not enough clearance for where everything plugs in to fit inside the given space of the taillight backing. Wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what they have done to fix it if so? I am thinking i might just have to shave down the plastic on the inside until it fits snugly and will bolt up. I have attached a couple pictures so it's easier to visualize.
Which brand did you go with? The $30-40 ones like Clear Alternative just don't seem to fit well and you have to take a dremel to make it work.
I had the Clear Alternative and it worked for about a year til all the parts broke inside. Now am going with the Custom Dynamics. It had a better fit and the parts seem to be assembled much better. Only problem now is that the base plate has cracked, where the screw sits in. Watch out when tightening, the base is chromed plastic.
