Clutch it up. Same as you would on a ricer in second. But honestly it's very hard on the bike, you'll see what I mean when you try it. Stay with first gear wheelies and bring her down easy, if your gonna dry shift into second make sure your at about 5000rpm then let off the throttle for a split second while you shift. This seem to be the nicest way on a Harley....if you plan on doing this more than once and a while I highly suggest some drop in springs and heavy fork oil, your stock front end will not take that abuse well.
Why wheelie a Harley they ask?? Same reason you ride a Harley.... Because we can.
The first to second dry shifts are rough, can't bring it up in second though. Already have the forks done. I am not so curious on how to wheelie, unless you can bring it up in second. Just interested in people who wheelie often and have had experience with broken cases or other parts.
Pulling a wheelie on a harley is awsome as it is on any bike if its done right it looks well cool respect to you dude.
I have had the front of mine up a few times just because i wanted to but its not something i am good at so cant help with the question sorry.
But keep on with the practice and lets have a youtube upload just try not to hurt yourself or bin it buddy.
Doing a wheelie and slamming it back down isn't good for the bike...who'da thunk. If you're going to beat on it of course things will break or wear out prematurely. Have fun, but be ready to throw some money out the window.
We all threw money out the window buying harleys lets face it. Why did i buy a harley rather than a metric cruiser? Because it is my style (and resale) So we all droped sensless money to buy these bikes, if the man wants to do wheelies let it be. He did not ask for your financial advise, he asked what kind of stress the bike will take. Harleys were much more fun when tattoed, intoxicated, fun loving maniacs rode them. Good job on bringing that front end up, do what you enjoy brother.
