Maybe your map got corrupted and needs to be reloaded.

Just an update: I got to thinking this morning and checked rear cylinder spark by pulling and holding it against the head. Looked like ****. Orange and dim. So at this point, I'm thinking something ignition. Plug wires first, the test the coil. I've already checked for corrosion. So I'm thinking I'll replace the plug wires and plugs today and go from there.

You say your original setup worked fine, maybe a tad lean. What makes you think it ran fine, did you check your plugs before and they were good?

Ya I had checked the plugs before, about 2000 miles back, after running this setup for a while. The plugs looked perfect at that time. So thats why I said it ran fine. I said it may have run a little lean because I would get some decel popping now and then.

Update: At the recommendation of a friend, I pulled the power commander. The bike ran just as rich without it as it did with it on. No change what so ever. I am starting to think maybe the pcv is bad or going bad.

Putting the black plug issue aside for a moment; how was it running?
You need to isolate if it's too much fuel, too little air or ignition.

is the bike missing or running like garbage? have you taken a look at the coil for any corrosion?

Puttig aside the black plug issue.. If I let it warm up, it does not miss, but I am seeing black smoke out of the exhaust when I get on the throttle. It still rides ok.

I did check for corosion and even checked resistance. All good there

Hi, I've got this same problem. 2000 FLHCI fuel injected, PC-III. Checked all of the items this thread suggest. Just changed plug wires and plugs. Still a problem. Anybody get a solution to this problem?
