they ripped the trans out of my wideglide, new injectors, battery bolt, now the bar's are going to break inhalf.... wtf. did i spend 20k for a piece of junk that is patched together just enough to be safe to ride.at what point do they admit it's junk. I bought a 2k eglide had only minor issues, this 06 wglide is a nightmare.
I can sympathize with you, but it just makes you wonder about all that is written about first year gremlins with new models, yet here is the last year for the 88's with all kinds of problems. Kind of blows that myth about first year problems out of the water.
I know how you feel, the recalls are a pain in the butt, and I have a couple of other problems that I hope will be covered under warranty. That said, I still love my WG. I have an '83 lowrider that I have been ridiing for 19 years, so maybe I am just used to having problems here and there. Maybe this will be the last of the recalls.
Certainly not defending the moco here - but big changes like the tranny are going to have some fallout during the first year of production. This is no different than automotive industry. I'm baffled a bit by the injector issue, because the dynas have had FI for a couple of years.
The cracking bars just have to be a supplier issue (or ex-supplier issue)
For 20 years I've always bought vehicles in the final year before a production change to an updated model. While I never have the latest and greatest - I've never had a lemon either. Same reason I bought a leftover 05 rather than a new 06 (oh ya - I'm a cheap bas#@&d too.)
