I just purchased a Lindby bar model 1041 for my 2008 wideglide. And it looks great. Problem is I can only get my foot on the brake side of I wedge it in. I wear a 10.5. Hardly large. While I haven't adjusted the brake even will go higher I won't think it comfortable to use. By the looks of it the brake side sits further over the the other. it is a stock forward control setup.
Anyone else run into this problem? I think I'll love the optional foot positions but need it to be able to put my right foot on the peg comfortably. .
I have not heard back from Lindby other than to say I mounted them correctly, the correct parts were used, and I have stock components. I am going to attempt to post pics in a few hrs as I can't from my iPhone.
I will add that I was impressed they replied last night. They seemed genuine in there desire to see what my issues was. Hopefully they will be just as concerned I solve it.
I like the way I wedge my foot between the brake and the bar. It's not enough pressure to even put the brake light on. It keeps my foot from falling off on long ride. Just wish the other side was the same. You"ll get used to it.
Thanks for the reply. For me it doesnt work. It cants my foot at a weird angle as the angled downtube of the bar sits so far over the peg I can't get my foot on a large part of the peg. My foot is resting on the bar. Also there is no way to brake unless I pull my foot out at an angle. It would make my rear brake almost useless in an emergency.
I have been in contact with lindby and they have been great to work
with. Other than modifying the bracket to push it forward and a little out of the way it doesn't look like it will work. If it was an 1.5 wider it would like it does on the left side(right side sits out further to give your leg clearance from the ac).
