I traded in my 2011 Sportster last month for a 2012 Superglide and had all
the work done to it pipes, air, tuner ect picked it up put 50 miles on it and found out a few days later I need surgery to my wrist due to a old work injury and a new one to the same wrist.I had a silicone implant put in 25 yrs ago and it has cracked and leaked. I am going to get a partial fusion to 4 bones plus 2 cysts removed that formed in the area due to the implant. 6 to 8 weeks in a cast and not a clue before the fusion takes and recover the use of the wrist again.Hand has been numb for a while so any improvement will be a plus.
Anyone have anything like this done and I know everyone is different but would like to hear of any people who have recovered and are ridding again thanks

Thanks it is the right hand. If it goes on too long might wax the paint right off it. Wife saw me looking at a u tube clip of a guy with a go pro ridding his superglide and says I lost it.
Thanks in advance

I would install a thottle boss and ride. You can just push down on the thottle boss you don't need to hold on to use the thottle.
P.S. You most like wouldn't wanna hot rod around much not being able to hold on much. But you may be able to ride with one.

I'd be more concerned about being able to use the lever on the back side of the throttle.
Sucks ***, but I'd wait it out.

Charlie,
I went thru lower back surgery last year just after purchasing a new Super Glide Custom, two weeks after getting it actually. The surgery wasn't planned, and had to have bone taken out in three places and a bulging disc cut down as well and what got me thru it was going out every day starting the day after the surgery and looking at my bike in the garage. I just knew that as soon as that 4 to 6 weeks was up that I was going to get on that bike and ride it for all it's worth! And I did it, well I actually cheated and did it on the 3rd week because I wanted to ride it again so badly it hurt. It actually hurt worse than the back pain did by not getting to ride and I think that in my brain it helped me get better faster. I did the physical therapy twice to three times the amount that the doctor and therapist told me to and overdid everything just to make myself get over it and get well sooner just to get on that bike. And it worked! So just know that you'll be ok and that it's going to be worth it once it's over and that you're going to ride like the wind once you're given the ok and just do it! A lot of it is convincing yourself that it's not going to set you back any and I believe a lot in the power of positive thinking and that it works.
Just my .02 worth but it worked for me I believe, might give it a try!
Be well soon and ride safe!

May look into a few things, ez pull clutch, throttle rocker, shave the levers to work with fingers so you can keep your main part of the hand on the bars... Then play with bar set ups to see what gives you the most control
