Well, that definitely does suck! Only you can determine how much pain you will be able to endure and whether it is worth it to ride. Play it by ear and as others have suggested, try to figure out a few ways of reducing the strain on that right wrist.
PS: the good news is that you may be able to get the ole' lady to help you out with a few of those other jobs you've been doing with that right hand! lol...Good luck Bro!
I have recurring tenosynovitis in both thumbs, especially the right one. Have found that the throttle boss helps a lot, like has been said, you don't have to wrap your fingers around the throttle to accelerate or maintain speed.
Have used them on all my bikes for years, even those with cruise control. tomp dd50
I am a left leg amputee (above knee) , lost it in a bike accident and as others have said where there is a will there is a way, I have know a few over the years that have riden with one arm, so I am sure if you put you mind to it you can ride as much as you want to,
How about a thumb throttle like on a snow machine? I would also second the short levers (maybe dual disks would require less lever force - and an ez pull clutch on the other side).
Thanks for all the comments. I will do whatever I can to get back to ridding when this heals up. I have the thottle boss on already because the hand has not been right for some time now.
