Default Longer fork tubes?

Anybody know how much longer I can go on the fork tubes of a 2012 WG and not have to modify cables and such?

only thing you have to worry about is the brakeline... 2 inches will be pushing it with the stock line... but braided lines are cheap, plentiful and in all sizes on ebay

Thanks, I wasn't thinking anything over maybe 4" so a brake line should do it then, thanks.

Are you changing the rake? If so are you modding the frame or just using trees? Just curious.

No, not yet anyway.

I added the 13" (inch longer than stock) Progressive shocks to the bike and I'd like to raise the front end about an inch also, just think it might look better, maybe.
2" tubes might do it but I'm just wondering how far I can go.

I plan on raking the bike and going with maybe 6-10 over maybe, but would like to ride one that's set up like that first, might be a bit to much rake for the old guy here, especially considering the in town driving I do..

Had a 13" over sporty back in the 70's, raked out so it sat level, enjoyed the bike but not sure I'd enjoy that much rake now at 65.

Cool. Post pics when you're done.

My goal is 40 degree rake. That will be down the road though. I need to do all the math and find a shop that will help with the welding and frame set up. I'm thinking about strethching the frame 1" up and 1" out as well. Still playing with the frame calculators tho. Dont want to screw up the trail and make a crappy handling bike.

Ya, that's what I'm worried about, long front ends look nice but sometimes are a batch to ride, especially in tight corners.

Trying to find a happy medium.

Might be awhile, this winter is cams, A/C, pipes, and TTS module, and maybe a few more engine things too, depending on finances.
Then we'll see how much winter/funds I have left.

Thinking about going to a narrower front end also, I hear horror stories about putting the Sporty front end on, but thinking the mid sized larger tubed one might work well..not sure though.

If you rake the front end you will have to worry about the ignition. The metal is thin there so they better do it right. The cut would go through the ignition section.

Also 40degree will have chopper flop. cool looking but not the best handling set up.

Dropping the front with rake is the back needs to be dropped equal amount. So it will be a rough ride.

Just some thoughts
