bad negative battery cable
hey was riding along and the whole motorcycle shut down to never come back on i pushed it to a home depot and checked every fuse was good this is a 2011 st bob turn the key absolutely nothing got it to harley and they informed me it was a bad negative battery cable has anyone else had this problem with fairly new motorcycle i just got back from sturgis thank god it didn't in the middle of Minnesota now waiting for warranty work
im having a paoblem on 10 wideglide. sometimes it is dead but starts later. sometimes it loses power goin down the road and comes back on. today i rode to store shut it off and went to start it had no power. i got fed up and smacked the battery box it started right up

yepp same thing happened to my 2011 SB. the negative battery connection was loose and when i went to tighten it the bolt snapped. 30 minutes later and having to drill and retap the threads i was back on the road. better to check it every so often so you don't get stranded

Yep, happened to me several years ago on a four-year-old Sportster. Got a 100 mile ride in a tow truck across the Colorado high plains to a dealer in Denver. Sure am glad that I had the HOG tow insurance.
