Default And yet another Dyna muffler question...

Got a set of Screamin Eagle II's on ebay. The kind you can't get at dealers. They say Screamin Eagle on the rear muffler. One problem; they are too quiet! I thought Harley stopped selling these because they were too loud? I removed part number 65747-94 muflers. They were louder.
I thought the new Sreamin Eagle mufflers say Harley Davidson on them?
Any idea what gives with these or is this normal?
I'll try to pst some pics later.
Thanks!
These are the ones I removed, straight through, someone clean then out?:

These are the SE's; note the baffles!

they still conform to EPA noise standards. get a set of cycle shack baffles and your good to go.

You remove the SE baffles and replace them with the Cycle Shack?

the older screaming eagle slip-ons came with cycle shack baffles. thats why they were so much louder.

Thanks for the info.
So I grind out the stock SE baffles, find out what part number Cycle Shack baffles fit the SE's, and bolt them in. Sounds do able.

i have SE II's on my '06 Lowrider with the original baffles and they are fairly loud, not overly loud (of course "loud" is a relative term). i can't tell from the picture, but does it have the roman numeral II at the end of ScreaminEagle? if it doesn't have it stamped into the muffler casing at the end, it's not the SE II's, it would be the newer SE's which are quieter than the SE II's. just wondering

When you pull the baffle out then you have a couple of options - you can put cycle shacks baffle in but you may also try drilling a coule of more holes in the existing baffle.

As you can see in the picture (this is the SE baffle) there are 5 rows of holes - I added another 2 rows. You can add more I just didn't wan to get too crazy (harder to un-drill a hole). Then if that doesn't do it for you - you can open up the diverter a little (on the left of the picture where the pipe is closed off).

Does not have II's; guess that's where I went wrong.

Were your baffles bolted or spot welded in?
