What is this piece that came off my '12 fxdwg? *Pic*

So my '12 wide glide has been around for about 3 months and today I was washing it in the driveway, however after I pulled it back into the garage, I noticed a piece laying in the driveway, directly under where the bike was.
It is a very hard rubber, and the curved part appears to be the same size as the frame of the bike. I have no idea where it goes on the bike or what purpose it serves. Can someone help me out here so I can get it back where it belongs!
