Default Poor braking

Just bought a new 2013 Fatbob. Brakes are horrible on it. I have owned almost all models of Harleys what is up with brakes on this?

I've never heard a complaint on the fat bob brakes.

If the brakes are horrible (and they have a rep for being very good) you must have some kind of problem. Since it's new, take it to the dealer.

When mine was new the brakes didn't work that well. After the pads get seated they will work better. 50-100 miles or so.

I agree the back is really poor but the front has always been good on mine. Maybe it just needs a chance for the pads to wear in, that takes about 250 miles of around-town riding.

No issues at all with my 2012. I would definitely have them checked if you feel they are bad.

i bought my 2008 with 9800 on it. Prev. owner had new pads put on in front with the 10 k service. He had riddin it home and bought a Ultra few days later and didnt ride it until i bought it. When i rode it i noticed brakes were terrible. Was kinda bummed but after i put about 500 miles on it with hard braking, the brakes started to work very very good. Guess they were not seated so make sure brakes are seated. You gotta jam on them hard to do this. do not ride the brakes to heat them up. this just makes them worse. once seated, use em any way u want

Fatbob front brakes feel spongy for the first couple of days, there are really old threads on this subject, I was part of them as far back as 2008. Don't worry just yet grab them firmly a few times and they should break in and start working real well within a couple of days otherwise then bring it in for someone to check.
