What the opinion on this bike's value? It is priced at $4k. It is kind of beat to **** and needs some love. Paint on engine looks like hell, around 50k miles. May want to replace the rear fender due to being bent up in front. Front fork seal is shot.
I don't mind giving it some attention over the winter, but wanted some consensus if it was better to go this route or pay a few more grand for a newer lightly used Dyna. $4k is appealing, and it actually rode and shifted fine. Popped like crazy, either has a leak or something else.
Its not a Low Rider, it's a Convertible. Those bags are weather worn, but factory and worth a little bit of money. Considering the amount of touring stuff on it, it looks like he did alot of highway...did you ask him how long he's had it and how many miles he put on it?
Is the bike beat to ****, or just weathered from use? Big difference. I think it'd be a great winter project, and not a very difficult one. The dual discs up front are a good bonus. I don't know much about value, is he stuck at 4k? Has the motor been into at all?
Edit: Wait, where's the gauges? No speedo/odo is a big detractor for me.

He had all the gauges in the saddlebag. Took it all off, said they worked, but don't know for sure. That is a detractor for me too. He has not had it long or rode it for more than a few thousand miles. He was stuck at 4k when I looked at it the day he posted it and he was sure that it wouldn't last the weekend, but its now 20 days old and getting a reality check. Maybe he would take around 3k. I don't think anything has been done to the motor. I would actually want to just go through the whole bike including top end over the winter, so I knew I could count on the thing next yr.
