Just went to my local dealer and they had a switchback in I sat on it to see if I liked the floor boards because I was thinking of putting them on my fxd. My question is it felt kinda cramped compared to forwards and in 5'9. My question is are they different on a regular dyna than a switchback meaning that did it feel cramped because of the a/c "which is huge compared to the heavy breather" and because the bars??
I just picked up my switchback Sat. and I've put almost 200 miles on it. I have mixed feelings about the floorboards after coming off my FXDC with forwards.
I don't feel like I can stretch out as much and can't keep my butt pushed back with my legs.
I guess I will have to adapt to a different position. I don't really like the bars either. I'm 6' and feel almost cramped.
Oh well, let the mods begin!
Personally I will stick with forwards, every time I have tried FOOT boards I have never found them to be comfortable. I have tried them on road trips when I have traveled and rented a bagger for a few days.
Just never felt I had as many foot positions available as I do with forward controls.
Seems to me as though the foot boards would reduce overall agility in hard cornering but that's just my opinion, I really dunno what a bike with foot boards is capable of.
I am 5'9'' and money was the big problem so I went with peg mounted floor boards. Not as strong as the $400 HD ones but I dont stand on them just rest the dogs. forwards with floorboards. I like them cus take em off in 5 and have the pegs again. At $100 and very adjustable move them 4 time before I got them right. Now if I want ot just remove install pegs and go to town.
