Default Trying to eliminate the FXDB Sparto...

So, I JUST got my new fender in, gonna have it put on this Thursday but I've been going over some options... I had them order a Badge to cover that hole from the light socket but the badge is just too flat from curvature in the fender. So any advice, maybe a tank badge or ideas you've seen? We discussed the use of a license plate there that contours to the fender but I'd rather put a badge there. Any input from the interwebs would be appreciated.

why not fill it in? or are you trying to avoid welding and repainting?

I did the fender chop with aftermarket license plate bolt lights, but now I've seen the 2013 bobs and really want a fender like that with a side mount plate. Very clean looking IMO.

Weld it up or it will probably crack somewhere down the line.

Weld it up, it makes a huge difference to appearance.

Talking to the guys at the dealer, one option the guys gave me was to have a piece of aluminum fabbed up to match the curve of the rear fender... anyway you look at it, I'll be spending some money to this thing looking sharp but not as much as a primer rear fender plus a the paint for the base coat and pearl to make the Cool Blue Pearl that route would put me at right about $600 compared to a weld and repaint, maybe around the $250-300 range...

The cracks only appear on the OEM fender, the moco came up with a solution for the cracking, they added ribs to increase structural integrity but only time will tell if they hold up, I am not going to wait for that crap though.

Lol, you nailed it on the head... but after some consideration I don't think I'll be able to get by with out a repaint.
