I have a 2011 Street Bob , I just got a killer deal on the Harley one piece detachable sissy bar anyway I have seached and did not come up with anything so I figured I would ask y'all . Will the chopped fender luggage rack part number 54252-10 fit a street bob? It says it for the 10 and later wideglides.I know the wide glides are a little wider but just wondering since the folks have made the oem wideglide sissy bars work on street bobs shouldn't the rack work also? Has anyone tried or done it?
Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
The street bob strut to strut is 8.5" wide I believe, so to make it fit, you'd have to bend in the sissy bar.... Its just a matter of bending or cutting and rewelding to make it work. The rack, should fit the sissy bar just fine, unless the bending throws something off. I think thats what your asking anyway...
From what I see in the new catalog you need 50300031
This is the luggage rack only
Fits 06 up Dyna models except 2010 wxdwg
Works with detachable or rigid mount side plates.
Pick up a HD catalog, they are free at most dealers.

That one fits only on the upright units that are separate from the sissy bar. We need something that can attach to the fender struts because the sissy bar we want is attached to the uprights as one unit (no bolt holes for a rack.) Look at the image of the sissy bar that crimson13 posted above and you'll see what we are talking about. But thanks for looking that up for us.
The first one is close to what we have on our wide glide but not back rest pad. All one piece.
Is there a reason you want it to connect to the outside of the fender strut?
I am using something close to the one I posted on my super glide, it has 2 bolts on each side to connect the BR and luggage rack. Except it connects inside the fender strut.
I went through the catalog an did not see anything that would fit the street Bob.
Personally I prefer the rigid mount because the mounts are hidden and you can make changes easy without the welds showing.
What I would do is go to a HD dealer and see why it will not fit. It may be nothing but the width of the mount, that is a easy solution to take care of.

Mounting inside the fender strut is fine with me. But I'm told the "chopped fender rack" will not fit my Low Rider because the fender width is narrower than the Wide Glide. So I was wondering if there was something else available for that sissy bar, or if it's possible to bend the Wide Glide rack to fit. Do you have pics of your setup?
