Well I put in all holes the same Amsoil 20-50 and my boy notices that the transmission clatters a little. I felt it a little but hardly hear it as my hearing is fu$$ed up lol. So should I go ahead and remove the oil in the transmission and replace it with Amsoil Severe Gear 75w-110? I know the manual states Amsoil 20w-50 in all three holes but I think the Tranny is clattering more than before and thinking of putting the Severe Gesr 75-110 in my tranny.
I should note that when I removed the transmission oil for the 1,000 mile change the oil looked good and not degraded but most importantly the oil seem more thicker than the motor oil so think the Severe Gear 75w-110 will be more thick than the motor oil.
Why does Harley say put oil in the tranny if it does make noise...I mean they shuld suggest heavier trans oil. Gonna do that tonight or tmw morning. Definitely think thicker oil is best though.
Running Mobil 1 v-twin in all three holes on my low rider and road glide. Didn't notice any difference when I switched over. If your having an issue, just change it out.
Severe 75-110 Amsoil for me.
No clunks no problems, twice a year, spring, fall.
I started with the Amsoil 75-90 at 500 miles but I thought it was a bit thin so went and staying with the 75-110 year round.
