Default Triple tree assistance.

Hello folks. New member. First post. I am doing some front end work on my first bike (2012 street bob). I am convinced something is wrong with the the way I reinstalled the triple tree. I checked the manual and all parts in the correct places/order Is there supposed to be a gap in between like this? Thank for any future advise.

I believe the gap should be there. Its been 2 years since I PC'd the front end on my bike. That is where the star nut is so you should be good.

Just stand the bike up and grab a fist full of front brake and rock the bike back and forth and listen/feel for play in the front end.
