Be a tad wary of winding it up too high, it can make the handling skittish. You could be half way round a bend, hit a bump and have the bike throw a wobbly at you because the shock wasn't absorbed.

4 is probably right for your weight. You really want it on 5 everytime you run two up. I was in the twistys one day with my wife on the back and swore I had a tire go flat. I pulled over and tire pressure was good but the shock I was in the turn on was still on 3.

I give you a year and you'll be upgrading the shocks...I finally broke down and put ricors on mine and it's a big difference. I can fly over railroad tracks and no more jolting. It's amazing how much difference the bike handles in the twistys and the on a windy day I feel I have much better control. I didn't expect a shock to make it better with wind....added bonus.

I like the firmer ride, but it actually seems better to me. It is a bit more abrupt on small bumps, but I like it. I'm sure it will be even better 2 up, but it's too cold now for the wife, so that will have to wait until we either get some warmer weather or spring.

I may set them up to 4 and try that out as well. I weigh 210 without clothes, so 3 is probably about the right combination, but I'm going to experiment since it only takes a couple minutes to do it.

Something else I noticed....the bike feels like it's a good 1/2 inch to inch taller in the seat....probably because the shocks are not sagging on 3 like they were set on 1.

I'm very pleased, and surprised I noticed that much difference. Makes me want some upper end Progressive shocks now, but that won't happen.
Actually according to the owners manual you should be at 4 or 5. I am also 210 and keep them set at 5. That way when my wife gets on I don't have to adjust them. Have you added any extra weight like engine guard, windshield, sissy bar, foot pegs (which can weigh more than double the OEM foot pegs)? Do you ride with an emergeny bag kit or other bags with items? It all adds up. I have all that stuff and I bet it's an extra 15 or 20lbs.

Excellent design process from MOCO that forces you to lie on your back with a flashlight to adjust your shocks, couldn't think of anything more enjoyable.
Adjusted from factory #1 setting to #4, seems about right for single and two riding. Would likely need to move to 5 when we're fully loaded for extended travel.
As others have said a good aftermarket set of shocks may be a wise purchase in the future.

Yeah, I hate how you have to adjust those things! My last bike at least had markers with numbers. Thinking about biting the bullet and getting the Ricors like Rooti did.
