What about top speed? Can you still bury your speedo? Can you keep the speed up there? Does it max out before you hit top speed?

I understand the benefit of off the line, curious about what it does to the top end of the speedo.

Thanks guys!
To be honest, I seldom go pass 70mph, that's my comfort zone. Top speed I have reached on this Dyna is 85, I'm ok with that. If I want speed, I probably get a rice rocket not Harley.

True, but would like to know the whole spectrum.

You did ask for the Pros and Cons did you not?

We know what it does to the bottom end, what does it do to the top end?

Inquiring minds want to know! The WHOLE truth and nothing but the truth, SO HELP ME....

A 30 tooth gear does the same thing on a bike as it does with a car. I don't see any downside to it at all. In fact you may improve mileage simply because there is more torque available so it will take less throttle to achieve and maintain speed.
For example my 2000 mustang gt came with 3.27 gears. I swapped em for 3.90s. Now I like to mash the throttle however I'm not racing from every light so regular driving I would routinely get 20mpg in the city and 23 highway. After installing the gears I was easily getting 25 in the city and 20-30 on the highway.
Now I drive responsibly, slight toe in on the throttle til I achieve speed and once I'm at speed I set my cruise and steer,so depending on your particular habits you may see an increase of fuel economy,or an increase of smiles per gallon, either way it's still win win.
I assume on a test track in controlled conditions a gear short gear must show mileage improvements over taller ones however in the real world conditions vary,so the mileage model doesn't work.

Don't worry about the top speed. With the 30t sprocket your bike will still have enough gear to do about 155mph at 6k rpm in 6th gear. That would take some big steam. I'm running a 30 front 70 rear and an inch shorter 190/50 on the back and it will do just shy of 130 in 5th at the 6500 rev limiter then pull for a while in 6th but doesn't have the motor to run out of gear in 6th.

i also run the 30/70... not one thing to complain about that i can think of... i spend alot of time on the highway at 85-90 mph no problem and at 75 she will really sit in and cruise nicely

Default 30T Pulley Pros and Con's

I put the 30T Pulley on 14,000 miles ago and have never looked back. The 30T is in my humble opinion the perfect improvement over the too tall gearing that has been prevalent since about 2006. I have the Speedo Tach combo and I also have the ThunderMax ECM so I was able to correct the speedo. At 85 mph which is really the the top end of what I like to do on the roads around here... the Tach is sitting right at about 3400 to 3500.....she is just purring along and I'm just smilin' along as she has lots more top end if I really wanted it.

I agree with so many others.. you just can't go wrong with the 30T pulley!!!
And no I didn't lose MPG if that was a concern!?!?!

With the 30/70 combo, can you use your stock belt....?
And where do you get a 70 rear....?

The 70t is stock on '06. I used an '07 belt with 30/70. It's a little short which is what I wanted. I used some longer adjuster bolts and it put the axle about an inch farther forward than stock. Shorter wheelbase equals better handling and wheelies.
If you want the axle to stay where it is I THINK an international belt is one tooth longer and would fit perfect.
If I remember right '07 is 131t, int 132, and '06 133.
