Default 06 DWG fork oil amount and type

I've been through quite a few post. looks like 29.6 oz. is that per fork. Also, I don't know what comes from the factory, but what I have been reading, use 20w. That sound right. Mine are real soft. thanks

That measurement is an approximate value. Fork oil level is measure by the airspace left on top of the fork with it compressed all the way and the spring out. Thicker oil is not always better either. The thicker the oil the slower your suspension will work. If you are trying to compensate for the weak factory springs you won't. The suspension will still dive, just slower.

Went to Progressive fork springs in my 02 Dyna replacing my stock softies. Used stock replacements as to not change the height. Should have done this years ago. A really nice ride now.

That's 29.6 in each tube in the WG. But you do need to measure the distance from the top of the tube to the oil with the fork fully compressed. 112mm on the WG. Check out Muds post. It'll tell you everything you need to know. I used the screaming eagle heavy fork oil, not sure of the weight, but I also dropped the front 2" with progressive springs so I needed the extra stiffness.
