Default Low oil?

I have a 2011 Fat Bob I had the oil changed this spring and put about 2000 miles on it. When the oil was first changed it was middle of the dipstick now it at the bottom in the add 1 qt area. Is this normal? its not leaking so I assume it is burning it? Any opinions?

Check your oil more frequently and remember where it checks, both hot and cold.

Check your oil after a ride, add oil to the middle of the dipstick, check after rides while it's hot and alittle more frquent than every 2,000 miles. Some may be getting blown by back into the cylinder check your plugs for black sooty= oil.

A half quart in two thousand miles on a new motor is pretty normal.
New rings cylinders take that long to break in.
More likely to be blow by, and out the breather into the air cleaner and into the carb.

Thanks. Thats what I was looking for. I was just trying to decide if I needed to make it a warranty issue or if was pretty normal.
I can say I know a good bit is in the air cleaner. From what I read that is normal too.
First Harley just getting used to how they work.
