We'll have to see about that - not sure I wanna take on that one. Can you replace those on a Dyna without dropping the motor ?

Yep. Unbolt the tank front and back, disconnect the fuel line and slide the tank down the back bone for the front and just lift and prop the tank for the back. Easy job. Or if you just want to take the tank off you have to take the cross over off...I didn't want to do that. I've put 'em on my Street Bob and my Street Glide. An hour tops.

Update...I went to put the exhaust back on ... well a gutted head pipe (no cat) ... it was by far the most difficult part of this job. I took the original head pipe off with the heat shields on ... apparently you (or atleast I) can't put them back on with the heat shields.

After about an hour of fighting with it and cursing up a storm...and scraping some engine fins I stepped back and thought about and removed the heat shields. It was still tough to get back on but it was much more doable - and now its back together. I'll post a picture tomorrow when it's light out of the finished bike all back together.

By the way there is a guy here in Clarksville that is going to try and match the HD wrinkle black for me (need to get some things done on the Street Glide). He already did some gloss and flat black parts for me and they came out great.

If he can do it I can let you know if you decide to do the rocker box tops. Like I said I have them on both my bikes, I can post pics if you wanna see what they look like.

Looks real good and I agree about the black rocker covers. If I can do it, anyone can.

Hey Craigfbb - that would be awesome if you could get me that info. I'm thinking about doing my battery cover and electrical cover in wrinkle black...and possibly now my rocker covers.

I didn't notice before that you were in Clarksville, maybe I'll see you out on the road someday. Or if you're ever looking for another person to go riding with give me a shout. I'm new to the area and don't know many other people who ride.

Will do. I'm almost at 1000 miles on the Street Glide so I'll be pulling the primary soon. I'm gonna stop by his place this weekend so hopefully he's done something for me to check out. If he can't match it I'll send it up north.

Sounds good. I ride until they salt the roads the first time, then back on when the rain washes it of so I ride pretty much all year long.

Awesome - I look forward to hearing how it comes out.

I'm from upstate NY so I'm loving the weather here as far as riding goes. I'm hoping I'm able to ride almost year round like you said. I work in Russellville KY so I ride 431 60 miles round trip each day. The worst thing for me has been the fog in the mornings lately.

The way the bike should have shipped from the factory... IMHO

And here it is from the other side. Woz10's covers on my Wide Glide, plus Stage 1 A/C and foot boards. I agree, the level of difficulty was not bad at all. The snap ring inside the trans cover was the hardest part.

Great swap - less than $30 for shipping.

Thanks, Woz.
